Caroline Rioux is a proud Franco-Ontarian who was born and raised in Carson Grove, in the heart of Ottawa Vanier. She obtained her bachelor's and master's degrees in mathematics from the University of Waterloo, and then went on to work in British Columbia and England. It was her desire to live and work in French that drove her to return to her hometown. She now works as a professional Software Designer for a large high tech firm.
As a Franco-Ontarian Caroline believes very strongly in the rights of francophones outside Quebec to be educated and live in French. She believes that all Canadians should be able to access all government services from municipal to federal in the language of their choice.
Caroline is just as dedicated to sustainability, whether it be in everyday life or in politics. She has chosen to live car-free, opting instead for a membership in a car co-operative. Caroline supports the Green Party values of sustainability and community and will represent Ottawa Vanier with compassion and accountability.
As a Green Party activist, she has held many roles in local associations, including CEO of the Kitchener-Waterloo association and Secretary of the Ottawa Centre association. Caroline has also volunteered on many campaigns, helping with communications and canvassing.
With the support of Ottawa Vanier Greens, Caroline is looking forward to the privilege of representing you in the next election.
Caroline envisions a future where living green is the natural choice for all Canadians.
